2015 Festival: Sell Outs and Record Audiences

Incoming Festival

Incoming Festival 2015 was a huge success. It was our biggest festival yet and if we do say so ourselves the best we’ve offered for audiences and companies to celebrate the breadth of emerging theatre companies. The 2015 festival included record breaking audiences, a lot of sell our shows and workshops bursting with participants.

Here’s a snapshot of what 2015 offered:

23 theatre companies with 1120 tickets sold
81% overall capacity with 14 sold out shows
10 free workshops with 134 participants
60% audiences had not been to New Diorama Theatre before
80% audiences had not seen the company they had booked for before

Here’s some feedback we received:

“I think it’s great that new companies have this opportunity to show work. The ticket price makes it accessible and possible to take a risk on seeing something new and unknown. I am not a regular theatre goer but will definitely come again”

“I often avoid theatre because it’s too expensive, this is great”

“Like the Edinburgh Festival in London if you can’t make it up to the Fringe”

All the companies that perform as part of Incoming Festival receive:

A fee and 50:50 box office split
Opportunity to put on a workshop
Technical and marketing support
Production photography with Richard Davenport
Equity advice session

As well as this three companies will be short listed as part of the Peter Brook Festival Award with the winner announced in September. There is a cash prize of £2,000 for the winning company for developing future work.

Details of the 2016 festival will be announce soon. Until then we’d like to thank our partners Little Angel Theatre, Equity, Theatre Delicatessen and White Light for making the festival brilliant. Also a big thank you to those who came to our Festival Fundraiser and of course Arts Council England for funding the festival again.
